The Eighth Oblivion Trilogy

When the machines woke, they did not rage. They simply continued. And that was far worse.

Chapter Plan: The Convergence

Summary

The final chapter of Part 3 brings the threads toward each other without fully merging them. The chapter uses a modified multi-POV structure: primarily Jerome, but with brief sections from Kevin Zhou and Delphine showing their parallel movements. Jerome prepares to meet his anonymous source, unaware it may be connected to Kevin Zhou’s parallel journey. Delphine receives news that changes her professional landscape. Kevin Zhou drives through the Nevada desert toward the coordinates. By chapter’s end, all three characters are in motion toward Part 4’s “crystallizing event.”

The chapter should feel like the last moments before a storm - the pressure building, trajectories converging, each character having crossed personal thresholds. The “Eighth Oblivion” concept has spread beyond any individual’s control. The systems are exhibiting behaviors that match the theory’s predictions. And the characters who might understand what’s happening are finally beginning to find each other.

She thinks of her conversation with Jerome - he warned her that the story changes everyone who touches it.

Scene 4: Jerome - Departure (~4 pages)

Scene 5: Convergence Image (~3 pages)

The chapter ends with the sentence: “Something was beginning.”
